Feedback for DC Dutta’s Textbook of Gynecology 8th Edition

Majority of students in final MBBS use your book while studying gynaecology. I am a medical student who has just completed my III(II) MBBS examinations. I am writing what I felt about your book from my perspective as an undergraduate student.

. Relevance:

I have checked your book against the new MCI-BoG curriculum. Your book fulfils almost all the requirements satisfactorily.

You have described leucorrhoea in chapter 34 with some characteristics of physiological vaginal discharge, (2) CDC does not consider bacterial vaginosis as an STI; however, many standard books treat it in the same manner. I feel that an explanation for treating bacterial vaginosis as an STI should be included in your book.

(3) I could not find mention of how genital hygiene can be maintained in your book. I request you to add the same since it has been included in the new curriculum. The scope can be how genital hygiene is maintained before menarche, during menses and in the fertile period, after menopause (all of this in health) and in disease.
